TODAY WE VISITED THE MCLEAN ZONE FOR INSPECTIONS. I had a really enjoyable day with Sisters Burton and Erickson doing these inspections. So much fun to visit with them all day long. The missionaries are given a LONG list of things they are to do-including, but not limited to: Clean oven, microwave, clean out fridge, wipe blinds, clean spots of walls, check smoke detectors, and carbon-dioxide detectors, have 72 hour kits available. bikes in working order, bathrooms cleaned, clean sheets, clothes hung and organized. It's a long list and this first day they weren't as well-prepared as usual. Dirty ovens and fridges. It's hard for 19 year olds to see the mess when the floor has been vacummed and every thing put away. Looks clean to them. We'll see how Thurs goes. But we had lots of fun visiting with lots of great missionaries who we love and know serve the Lord really hard. It is hard to be the "tough guy" about apartment cleanliness. After 18 months I have become much more able to point out what needs to be done. At first I was kind of intimidated by the whole thing. Imagine what I will be like next year?
