WHY I BELIEVE - ASHBURN STAKE- TOM GRIFFITH

Mark had the opportunity to speak with Judge Tom Griffiths. Tom was Mark's trainer in the South Africa mission when they were 19 year old missionaries in 1974. Mark has the same wonderful feelings for Tom that Greenies usually have for their trainers.

Tom was an outstanding missionary and helped Mark to become the great missionary he was in South Africa.

Tom lives here in Virginia and is the highest judge on the 9th district court of Appeals. That puts him just below the Supreme Court in power.

Mark was asked to introduce Judge Griffiths at this fireside. This is always a priviledge for Mark.

Judge Griffiths gave a powerful and moving speach about the gospel and the reasons about why He believes the Gospel to be true. He outlined the beliefs of the church and did so in a simple and beautiful way.

His wife Sue was there and we were able to visit for a few minutes after not seeing each other for many years.
