A DAY OF BAPTISMS- MARCH 26, 2011

We spent a wonderful day attending 2 beautiful baptisms.

These first pictures are of Tanya. She is a single mother of a lovely daughter, a former marine, with a great career. Her job takes her to California almost weekly. While she was there she attended a "Saints Unified Choir Fireside". This is the Gladys Knight choir that travels and gives a fireside of music and testimony of the Gospel. These fireside often result in numerous referrals. After the fireside, Tanya filled out a form asking for a CD and visit. When she returned to Virginia the missionaries began teaching her 2 weeks later. What a beautiful lady with a beautiful testimony.

Elder Scoble had the opportunity to perform her baptism.

We also attended the baptism of Adrian Claros. This young man has been investigating for a couple of years. His parents and he took the lessons together and they were baptized a couple of years ago. They have had such a desire for him to join. When he finally decided to join, he only told his mother. An elaborate scheme - his father was asked to speak at a baptism for an 8 yr old boy getting baptized. And when Bro. Claros arrived for the boys baptism, he found his son dressed and white and ready to be baptized. It was the most beautiful and touching scene to observe as his father wept with joy when he realized what was happening.. Elder Simmons performed the baptism, Elder Rex gave the prayer and Elder Bazzle spoke.
After the baptism we were invited to the Claros home for dinner and it was fabulous. We have been told how incredible the spanish meals are and it really was amazing. Barbecued chicken, ribs, and sausage and all the extras. Tres Leche and flan. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed visiting with the family and all the missionaries.
