The Miracle of Member Present

Dear President,

This week was really wonderful! We are continually striving to be obedient,

diligent, positive, and grateful for the many blessings that we have and continue

to receive. One of the highlights of the week was a ward member coming with

us to teach our investigator Leda. Last night was the miracle lesson of all

miracle lessons. We have been struggling to help Leda understand the

importance of Joseph Smith. She believes in the Book of Mormon, that Joseph

Smith restored the church, the priesthood, etc. Leda pretty much believes

everything we have taught her; however, she has not come to terms that Joseph

Smith was called of God to be a Prophet. Even though we would teach her the truths through

scripture, testimony, prayer, etc. it was not clicking....AT ALL. Then last night two priesthood

holders from our ward met us at Leda’s to give her a health blessing. While they were

explaining to Leda the power of the priesthood and how it was restored, she once again brought

up her doubts about Joseph Smith being a Prophet. With all the eloquence, power, and

sweetness that comes only from Heaven, our member exchange Antonio explained everything so

beautifully that Leda was not only touched by the Spirit, but understood and agreed. It was a

miracle! Leda was so happy. I was in tears. The friends of hers that were visiting were touched.

The spirit was overwhelming. She is finally at peace with a battle that had been raging inside her

for over 2 months. Leda has now agreed to be baptized.
