STAKE CONFERENCES KEEP US BUSY

It is that time of year. Lots of Stake Conferences and with it the opportunity to visit lots of wonderful stakes and meet many great saints from all over the mission. We also have the opportunity to meet lots of visiting General Authorities. And as an extra bonus we get the opportunity (blessing) of speaking.

Two weeks ago we attended the Woodbridge Stake Conference. The spirit was so incredible and the theme was Missionary Work. So of course, we couldn't be more excited. President Price challenged every stake member to turn the name of someone over to the missionaries before the next conference in 6 months. WOW, wouldn't that be fabulous. Elder Maynes of the Seventy was visiting and he was incredible. Very entertaining and spiritual all in one. He spoke at a blackboard for and hour and had everyone in the palm of his hand. That was at the Sat evening session. Pres and I were invited to also speak during that meeting.
The Sunday session was also inspiring.
Then last week end we visited the Ashburn Stake Conference. Pres. Albright spoke at the Sat evening session. He was asked to speak about "the Atonement". A lot different than his usual subject of mission work. He did an excellent job. The next day at the Sun session we each spoke for 7 minutes. Elder Lansing of the Seventy was the visiting authority. He also was a gifted speaker. He lifted and taught at the same time and I really enjoyed his words.
This weekend we will be attending the McLean Stake Conference. Elder Cook of the Quorum of the 12 will be the visiting Authority. Can't wait.
This area is blessed with a great many General Authority visits and we are blessed to feel their spirits and attend many of these meetings. It is really one of the great blessings of serving in the mission field. I've always loved Stake Conferences. But that love has grown even more here in Virginia.
