They sign and decorate the tie and then tie it on the banister. This is a beautiful sight. When you come in the front door it is the first thing you see. There are so many now that it is completely full. I estimate around 280 ties are hanging there now. When we go home I will take all the ties with me and make a quilt. This is a treasure and we love it.
