OUR LAST ZONE CONFERENCE.
THIS IS INCREDIBLY SAD. I LOVE ZONE CONFERENCES.
CAN'T IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT THEM.
Today, June 8, 2012 we had conference with Ashburn and Centreville.
The Zone Leaders are Elders West and Barney in Ashburn and
Elders Slade and Edgington in Centreville.
Elder Barney conducted. He is a new zone leader and a great young man.
Elder Orme gave the thought and talked about the faith of new converts
Introduced new missionaries:
Elder McGoffin- grew up right here in the mission and only moved to Texas
10 months ago.
Elder Orme- Nephi, Ut.- loves road trips and sports
Sister Feng- from mainland China-attended BYUH, convert
Sister Goates- Kamas, Utah- loves dance and has a great voice
Elder Hodgsonn- Rockland, CA-great smile, very "helpful", and smart
Elder Kelley- Shelley, ID- Likes farming and bikes
Zone Leaders Slade and Edgington gave a powerful presentation on How to Begin Teaching
Sisters Murray and Ganbaatar taught on "Planning"
Very creative. Started with a role play of an "unplanned date"- very funny
followed with a "well-planned date"
Elders West and Barney taught on the "PMG Invite"
also very creative.
They had Elder Ayala come in as an investigator. As they went through the steps of
explaining the spirit, giving a conditional invite, teaching by the spirit, pointing out the spirit, sharing the Restoration with the spirit, again pointing out the spirit, inviting by the spirit- Elder Ayala peeled off
another tee-shirt. It was very effective.
The Assistants always do a dynamite job of presenting, motivating and encouraging.
